Shemmassian Academic Consulting

The Shemmassian Academic Consulting website is an excellent place to begin your pre-med journey when looking for guidance on topics like extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation. With an amazing and FREE 66-page guide, “Get Into Medical School: 6 Practical Lessons to Stand Out and Earn Your White Coat,” Dr. Shemmassian provides tips on how to “conquer your medical school personal statements” and how to maximize your admission odds based on the medical schools you apply to. This guidebook, along with many of the blogs Dr. Shemmassian posts, are free and informative resources that navigate you through the pre-med pathway while also answering many of the questions that may be on your mind. Check out his YouTube channel “Shemmassian Academic Consulting” as well for enlightening videos about mistakes to avoid in personal statements and how to wisely invest your time in extracurricular activities.

UCLA Med Mentors 

UCLA Med Mentors is a new program started by several medical students at the David Geffen School of Medicine. This new mentorship program is guided by eager DGSOM students that are enthusiastic about sharing their advice and guidance to undergraduates on the pre-medical track. The Med Mentors host student panels, office hours, and information sessions on various topic including MCAT prep, medical school applications and interviews. You can check out more about this organization on their Instagram page @uclamedmentors and like their Facebook page for more information and upcoming events.

MedSchoolCoach

MedSchoolCoach provides pre-med consulting services, MCAT tutoring, and one-on-one guidance services. While many of these services come at a cost, MedSchoolCoach offers many FREE and informative webchats with MCAT experts and physicians, allowing you to grasp new information and ask questions to current medical students and physicians. You may also check out their blog with information about preparing for the MCAT, or check out their YouTube channel with videos regarding medical school interviews and MCAT study hacks. They also offer numerous free guidebooks with amazing information!

MCATBros

MCATBros is a personalized consulting page that assists students in preparing for the MCAT while also providing free resources, many of which can be found on their Reddit and Facebook page. Aside from links to various free MCAT practice tests, MCATBros offers a free guidebook and template on improving your personal statement. MCATBros also created a Facebook group chat where pre-med students can connect with one another for advice and suggestions on how to accomplish their goals of getting into medical school! Check out their Instagram page @MCATBros to get continuous statistics and information regarding the MCAT.

Student Doctor Network

Student Doctor Network is an educational organization founded in 1999 for pre-health and health professional students. Though this website should not serve as your main source of information, it is a good platform to read various articles and dive into forums about various topics including medical school applications, interviews and several other subjects related to healthcare.

Dillon Dejam

Dillon Dejam is a current medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine who is enthusiastic about guiding his mentees through their pre-med pathway! He is active on Instagram and Facebook, providing great advice about staying focused and motivated. Dillon has various podcasts you can watch and even has an MCAT study guide you can access through his Instagram bio! Check out his page for motivational tips and guidance!

The Princeton Review

Though a majority of Princeton Review’s come with a cost, there are some hidden resources they provide for free! This includes a free MCAT Prep Trial, a free MCAT online test, several webinars, and online strategy session! Check out the links and browse to find the free tools that help you most.

Rise and Raise Mentorship

Rise and Raise is an Armenian pre-med mentorship program where undergraduate students have the opportunity to be linked with a mentor after filling out a short survey!
